Physics with Industry workshop

Within Chemport Europe, we help companies in the process industry to become more sustainable. Amongst other things, we link companies with opportunities from our network. The Physics with Industry workshop is such an opportunity.

To speed up the transition to sustainable chemistry, Chemport Europe focuses on 4 sources of feedstock:

  1. Recycling, and Circular polymers
  2. Biomass
  3. CO2
  4. H2

Companies working on technologies to apply these feedstocks, could benefit by participating in the Physics with Industry workshop.

Hydrogen, Carbon dioxide, Biomass and Recycling are the basis for Sustainable Chemistry

What is the Physics with Industry workshop?

This workshop introduces young physicists to industrial research. For an entire week they will work in a team on a real company issue. Participants are physicists from research institututes, mostly PhD students and postdocs. In addition, senior researchers will be involved to ensure progress and scientific quality.

Submit your case

Has your company a challenging problem? If so, you can submit your case and you could have a team of young physicists work on a solution for an entire week. It offers a unique opportunity for your company to gain fresh insights, solve tricky issues, expand your academic network and to get in touch with young minds.

The previous editions proved that the participating companies benefited from the scientific input, the new ideas and the contacts they gained.

How to participate?

You can participate by submitting a case. The scientific committee will then select the five best cases. This year’s edition will take place from 21 to 25 November 2022* at the Lorentz Center in Leiden. The deadline for submitting your case is 15 May 2022.

Please feel free to contact the organisation for general questions or for advice on whether your case is suitable for the workshop.
